Mortar attack kills 3 civilians in Damascus

PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorist attacks have killed at least 4 civilians and wounded 41 others in provinces of Damascus, Damascus countryside and Sweida, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency reported yesterday that terrorists fired some 7 mortar shells on al-Qassa’a quarter in the capital [Damascus], killing 3 civilians and wounding 33 others, including 4 children.

The shells landed in the ‘al-Malek Faisal’ Street and Berj al-Rous junction in al-Qassa’a quarter, a police command source told the agency’s reporter, pointing out that a 13-year-old boy was among the civilians martyred by the mortar attack.

Another mortar attack killed a child and wounded 3 others in Jaramana city in Damascus countryside.

A police command source said: ” Two shells hit surrounding of al-Soyof square and Municipality building in jaramana city, killing a child and wounding 3 others.”

The two mortar attacks on al-Qassa’a quarter and Jaramana city caused damages to several cars, houses and shops at the scenes.

More five civilians were wounded when terrorists opened fire on a bus in Dama town on Daraa-Sweida road.
