Medvedev Congratulates Al-Halqi on Entrusting Him to Form New Government

 DAMASCUS, (ST)-Prime Minister-designated Wael al-Halqi on Tuesday received a cable of congratulations from Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev on the occasion of entrusting him to form the new government in Syria.

Medvedev wished al-Halqi all success in forming the new government and stressed that Syrian and Russian keenness to boost cooperation in the economic, trade, scientific, cultural, technical and humanitarian fields and to implement all joint projects, particularly those in the domains of oil, industry and infrastructure, goes in harmony with the deeply-rooted and historical friendship and partnership between the two countries and serves their mutual interests.
