Orfali: Economic Situation, Key Projects Discussed

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Dr. Khider Orfali confirmed the government’s keenness on the participation of all economic activities including public, private, joint, civil and cooperative in pushing the economic wheel and not to overlook the role of any of these activities as part of an attempt to “be a feature of the Syrian economy in the next.”

Dr. Orfali said in a statement to local press that the ministry has recently conducted a comprehensive analysis of the Syrian economy showed many of the indicators that reflect the economic situation in the various branches of the economy, pointing to the completion a special  paper work including a set of points that represent an integrated strategic program ”to benefit the advantages of errors and the pre-crisis conditions and try to convert the crisis into an opportunity for real reform, particularly on the economic side.”

“The strategic program was divided into three stages, the first includes “analysis of the current economic situation  and the second ” to put a number of key projects that can address some of the economic difficulties, “including the most important redistribution of support and the development of the national system to simplify customs procedures and to enable the partnership between public and private sectors and the development of the Syrian transport sector in addition to protection, and social security in Syria and the third stage is to be implemented through specialized teams that form concerned bodies,” the minister clarified.

Dr. Orfali noted that these projects are strategic ones with various dimensions to achieve a proper model in the economic and social life in Syria.
