Awqaf Minister: Attempts to displace Christians, Conspiracy against the Arab Nation

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Minister of Awqaf in the caretaker government Dr. Mohammad Abdul Sattar al-Sayyed stressed that the displacement of the people of Mosul is a heinous crime against the history and culture of the people of this region.

During his visit with a delegation of Islamic scholars to Patriarch John X Yazigi Patriarch of Antioch and All the East l yesterday, the Minister considered that “attempts to displace Christians and uproot them from their homes where they have lived since eminence of Christianity from this land to the world is a conspiracy against the Arab nation of both Islam, Christianity, and a distortion of the region’s heritage and identity.”

He reiterated that Syria will always embody the true concept of the tolerant Islamic religion which rejects extremism, violence and terrorism and calls for brotherhood, peace and love, and opens its doors for all people of Mosul who are exposed to the takfiri terrorism.”

For his part, Patriarch Yazigi said that Syrians, Christians and Muslims lived together on this land since the dawn of history, adding “We are committed to our survival on our land with our Muslim brothers and we will live in this land together or die together in defense of it.”

“We are one united family against the conspiracy, considering targeting a mosque is targeting a church and targeting of the Church is targeting the mosque and Syria will be victorious, thanks to its army and leader, and solidarity of its people,” Patriarch Yazigi emphasized

The Chairman of Bilad al-Chaam scholars Union, Dr. Mohamed Tawfik Ramadan al-Bouti,Dr. Mohammad Sharif Sawaf, general supervisor Sheikh Ahmed Kuftaro complex and Dr. Hossam El Din al-Farfour general supervisor al- Fateh Islamic complex  expressed confidence that all the Syrians will unmask the Zionist conspiracy hatched against them, pointing that “what is committed in the name of Islam has nothing to do with Islam and  will not undermine our will and we will be together in the service of the nation. “
