Syrian Arab Army Recaptures Gas Fields and Jabal al-Sha’er in Homs Countryside

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Army units have regained control of Jabal al-Sha’er and gas fields in the eastern countryside of Homs and have advanced on the strategic Mliha town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

The fresh gain was made after a concentrated operation in the eastern countryside of Homs where large numbers of terrorists from the so-called the ’Islamic State’ were killed, the General Command of Army and Armed Forces said in a statement released on Saturday.

The statement added that engineering units are removing mines and explosive devices that were planted by the armed terrorist groups in the area.

It confirmed that the systematic acts of vandalism being perpetrated by terrorist gangs in Syria prove that these gangs are connected with the US-Zionist plot which aims at fragmenting the region and looting its wealth.

Several areas in Homs countryside are still witnessing military operations against terrorist groups.

Mliha battle

Meanwhile, the official news agency (SANA) reported that the army units advanced on the strategic Mliha town in Damascus countryside and continued pursuing terrorists in Jobar quarter near Damascus and in Erbin, Darayya, Duma, Khan al-Sheih farms and Magr al-Meir outside Damascus.

The army’s advance in the Eastern Gouta battle was manifested in moving forwards- from the western side- towards the entry of Zebdin town.

On the other front lines, the army units struck terrorist groupings and their hideouts in many flashpoint areas in southern Daraa province and in and outside northern Aleppo province.

Many terrorists were killed and injured in the flashpoint areas.
