Handball team to compete in Iran

DAMASCUS,(ST)- The U-16 national handball team are currently holding an indoor training camp in the Faiha sporting complex in Damascus.

Under Algerian coach Abdul Rahman Miruki, the camp is part of the team’s preparation for taking part in the Asian Cup finals which will be held in Iran.

The team includes the following handballers: Abdul Rahman Abdulla, Saad Ali, Bashar Mohammad, Mohammad Khalil, Nour Sharabi, Bilal Kabab, Mohammad Fuad, Omran Akhras, Abdul Qadir Haj Salih, Ali Assi, Yusuf Mohammad, Shawqi Shawish, Jamal Maki, Suhaib Baroudi, Ammer Namis and Fayez Hasan.

The event’s format

The 12 participating teams will be split into two groups of six.

Group A: Syria, Qatar, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Oman.

Group B: S.Korea, Iraq, Kuwait, Macao, Bahrain and Iran.
