President Assad Receives Congratulations from the President of South Africa, Hoping the Syrian people Overcome Crisis

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al-Assad received a cable of congratulations from Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa on the occasion of winning the presidential election.

President Zuma expressed the hope that the Syrian people  and government will be able to overcome the crisis in their own country and stressed his country’s readiness to help in this process.

President al-Assad also received a cable of congratulations from Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, Secretary General of the World Assembly of Islamic awakening in Iran on the occasion of winning the presidential elections.

Velayati stressed that the Syrian people showed the world through their active participation in the presidential elections that they are the only ones who decide their own destiny, expressing hope that the Syrians will eliminate the current crisis.
