Syrian Arab Army Continues Operations against Terrorists, Ceasfire in Yarmouk Camp

PROVINCES,(ST)_Terrorist groups in over  40 sites in Aleppo province and outside Homs, Idleb, Daraa  and Qameshli provinces have been targeted by army units, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted a military source as citing that many terrorists were killed and injured there, noting that the army units targeted terrorists from the so-called the ‘Ahrar al-Shan’ organization near Sermin town outside Idleb and foiled terrorists’ infiltration bid from the west of al-Ghezlan farm in Othman town outside Daraa province into a military post.

Several hideouts for terrorists were pounded in today’s operations.

Some  691 gunmen

On the other hand, the official agency said that the competent authorities regularized situations of about 691 gunmen from southern Daraa province and north-western Idleb province under the ongoing reconciliation process nationwide.

Yarmouk Camp initiative

As for the latest developments in al-Yarmouk camp in Damascus, the agency quoted the Head of the Political Department of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in Damascus as citing that an initiative was signed yesterday evening under the auspices of the Syrian State and the PLO to make the camp free of weapons and gunmen.

Ambassador Anwar Abdul Hadi added that the initiative also provides for regularizing the situations of the gunmen, who want to benefit from the amnesty decree recently issued by President Bashar al-Assad.

“A ceasefire has come into effect in the camp since yesterday. We are optimistic but we must be careful,” the ambassador said, noting that a delegation is to enter the camp in the coming few days to make sure that the initiative is being implemented.
