SANTA CRUZ DE LA SIERRA, Bolivia- Syria took part in the G77 + China summit which was kicked off yesterday in Bolivia under the slogan “Establishing a New World Order “.
In a speech ahead of the official opening of the summit, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro focused on the importance of supporting the struggle of the Syrian people against terrorism and imperialism.
“We have to remember the Syrian people’s steadfastness and struggle against terrorists and their sponsors, President Maduro said, greeting President Bashar Al-Assad.
He warned against the danger of terrorism in the region asking why the West doesn’t talk about the countries which support and finance terrorism in Iraq, Syria, Venezuela and Ukraine.”
Maduro pointed out that his country and the peoples of anti-imperialism countries won’t give up their sovereignty, independence or resources for false slogans.
Maduro, who urged the establishment of a fairer world economic order, said Venezuela was facing a conspiracy aiming to divide the country and fill it with violence in order to justify international intervention in its affairs with the purpose of dominating the world’s largest oil reserve.
Leaders of developing countries plus China met in Bolivia to draft a global anti-poverty agenda. The summit marks the 50th foundation anniversary of the group which has grown from 77 developing countries to 133 countries.
