PROVINCES, (ST)-In implementation of the amnesty decree No. 22 for 2014, 91 detainees were released yesterday in Idleb, according to Idleb’s Attorney General Ibrahim Younis.
In a statement to SANA, Younis said the decree was an opportunity for the detainees to restart a normal life and affectively take part in the process of reconstruction and reconciliation in the homeland.
Safwan Abou Sa’da, the Governor of Idleb highlighted the decree’s role in perpetuating positive moral values being a turning point in the lives of the detainees. He expressed readiness to provide necessary assistance to the released detainees to start a new life.
In Deir EzZour, Attorney General Kamal Dagher said 46 prisoners were released from the Central Prison of Deir EzZour in accordance with the latest amnesty decree.
Dagher said the process of releasing detainees, covered by the decree, has been continuous since the issuance of the amnesty.
In Hama, the amnesty decree allowed the release of 130 detainees.
Ayman Daqqaq, Hama Attorney General, said more detainees were to be released after having their files studied. He stressed the positive impressions and good social effects of the decree on enhancing national reconciliation.
Some released people, for their part, stressed keenness to be worthy of the amnesty and promised not to commit any crimes or violations against the homeland and citizens.
