The myth of Lattakia foundation

After the death of Alexander the great leaders of his wide empire fought and divided it among themselves. Syria was the lot of Sloqas Nictor, when he became king he built new cities in 300 BC he erected a new coastel city called lawzkia  in honor of his mother. Later during the Arabic liberation its name became Lattakia the byzantine historian (malalas) who lives in the 6th century BC tells us the pretty myth of Lattakia foundation: the myth says: when sloqas wants to build Lattakia he offered traditional victims and starts to follow the eagle with his soldiers, witch let the king to a rocky head inside the sea upon their arrival at that place, a big wild pig appeared behind the trees and attacked the king who killed it with his knife. That event prevented from following the eagle so Slokas knew that this is the right place, and merely built Lattakia on that head then he order his men to carry and mark with its blood the edges of the new city. So sloqas ordered to build a golden statue in honor

this will bring fortune and happiness to the city. At any rate the myth said so and so it excites our passions. Virtually Lattakia genesis is the result of Zeus will.
