Jordanian Foreign Minister: My Visit to Damascus Was Fruitful

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi described his visit to Damascus today as fruitful, reiterating the Hashemite Kingdom’s support for Syria in its reconstruction efforts and in meeting the aspirations of the Syrian people.

Safadi stated on his account on the platform “X”: “A fruitful visit to our sister Syria accompanied by an economic ministerial delegation, during which I conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to his brother, Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, and the King’s affirmation of the Kingdom’s full support for Syria in its path to rebuild a free, stable, secure, and united Syrian homeland that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people.”•

“We held extensive discussions with foreign minister Asaad Al-Sheibani that reflected our mutual commitment to institutionalizing cooperation, and we convened the first meeting of the Higher Coordination Council, which agreed on a roadmap for cooperation in the sectors of energy, water, transport, industry, trade, and health.” •

“Syria’s security is our security, and we stand together in facing all challenges; our security and defense cooperation is solid.” •

“We condemn and reject Israeli aggression and its attacks on Syria, as well as its targeted interventions aimed at sowing discord and chaos, which have no legitimacy or morality.” •

“The capable and accomplished Syrian people will turn Syria into a success story if given the opportunity, and we welcome the decisions by the United States and Europe to lift sanctions.”

“Many thanks to our brothers for their warm hospitality and deep dialogue.”
