-We want to help the Syrian government succeed because the alternative is a comprehensive civil war and chaos.

 

-Our embassy staff in Syria will work from Turkey to assist officials in Syria to determine the type of assistance they need.

 

-The alternative to the success of the Syrian government is a comprehensive civil war and chaos that will lead to destabilization of the region.

 

-Action must be taken at the congressional level and on a broader scale to develop the private sector and provide economic opportunities for the Syrian people.

 

-The outcome in Syria will have a profound impact on what happens inside Lebanon.
