Al-Lahham: Elections Results Renew Syrians’ Trust in President Al-Assad to Continue Terrorism Fighting, Political Reform,National Reconciliation

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The results of the Syrian presidential elections affirm that the Syrian people have renewed their trust in President Bashar Al-Assad to continue the homeland’s battle against terrorism and its sponsors and to carry on the process of political reform, national reconciliation and reconstruction, Speaker of the People’s Assembly (PA) Mohammad Jihad al-Lahhamsaid yesterday.

 

During a PA session on Monday, Al-Lahham, who congratulated President Al-Assad on winning the elections and thanked all the parties which contributed to the achievement of this democratic electoral process, attributed the success of the presidential elections to the victories of the Syrian Arab Army and the steadfastness of the Syrian people who flocked to the ballot boxes to express their free will.

The PA members stressed that the victory of President Al-Assad in the elections meant further keenness to maintain national principles and keep Syria’s dignity and sovereignty. They said that the elections expressed the Syrians’ determination to enhance Syria’s resistance to imperialist schemes and affirm their strong will to rebuild Syria on more solid basis that maintains social justice, fight corruption and keep Syria’s national track.
