University of Damascus and Syrian Forum Sign MoU to Boost Cooperation in Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Affairs
Damascus University and the Syrian Forum signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance joint efforts in the fields of development, humanitarian affairs, education, economic empowerment, and public policy.
The memorandum, signed by Damascus University President Dr. Mohammad Osama Al-Jaban and Syrian Forum President Dr. Ghassan Hitto, aimed to develop joint projects and programs to support vulnerable groups, exchange expertise, hold training courses and workshops to enhance the efficiency of students and graduates.
It also focused on supporting scientific research and cooperation in the field of economic empowerment, implementing initiatives to promote entrepreneurship, and organize events to connect students and graduates with the labor market.
The memorandum included cooperation in advocacy campaigns to promote human rights and sustainable development, and the exchange of information to support advocacy issues locally and regionally.
Under the memorandum, Damascus University and the Syrian Forum are committed to providing logistical and material support, and providing academic cadres to implement joint activities.
It comes within the framework of Damascus University’s efforts to enhance cooperation between academic institutions and civil society organizations to support knowledge production and develop scientific capabilities.
