I met yesterday with His Excellency Prime Minister Nawaf Salam (the Lebanese Prime Minister), where we discussed the necessity of expediting the resolution of the suffering of Syrian detainees in Roumieh Prison (in Lebanon). We agreed on some practical steps in this regard.

We the Syrian government affirm our full commitment to resolving this issue as soon as possible. It is natural for some repercussions of the war to persist for a period of time; however, what can be guaranteed is that Syrians will always remain at the top of our priorities.
