Suwayda Governor issues a statement on attacks targeted peaceful people in western countryside

Suwayda, MAY.17, (ST)-Suwayda Governor Mustafa Al-Bakour has condemned the attacks that targeted peaceful people in the western countryside of Suwayda and affirm the state’s absolute rejection of any attempt aimed at sowing chaos and discord among the Syrian people.

He said in a statement issued today: “We have directed the relevant security and military authorities to firmly confront any outlaw groups and prevent them from infiltrating or tampering with the security of our people, in cooperation with the local community, which has always demonstrated its awareness and concern for its security.”

He added: “We recognize that the geographical nature of the area adjacent to the western countryside, with its rugged terrain and field challenges, requires a high degree of coordination and professionalism in handling them. Necessary field measures have been taken to ensure an effective response to any emergency.”

The governor concluded his statement by saying: “We appeal to our people in Daraa to remain vigilant against malicious hands seeking to destabilize security.
