456 new companies were licensed since the beginning of the year until last April

The Licensing Department of the General Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection reported that 456 new companies were licensed from the beginning of this year until the end of last April. This total includes 390 Limited Liability Companies, 6 Private Joint Stock Companies, 5 Holding Companies, and 55 One-Person Limited Liability Companies.

Mustafa Ismail, the head of the Licensing Department, stated to SANA that the administration has taken necessary measures and provided the required facilities to simplify the process of establishing various types of companies. This initiative aims to reduce the time required to complete the necessary steps for company formation.
Ismail explained that the process for establishing a company only requires the presence of the owner or his legal representative, the submission of the incorporation application, and the articles of association in the approved format. ID card photos and agency documents must be attached.
Regarding the establishment of companies by non-Syrians, Ismail clarified that applications are not limited to Syrian citizens; individuals of other nationalities can also apply across all specialties.
Ismail noted that the process of establishing companies is experiencing strong demand and a wide variety of specialties and activities. This is particularly evident in the import sector, especially with cars. There is also growth in areas such as financial and administrative consulting, industrial activities, and communication-related services.
The head of the Licensing Department emphasized the importance of obtaining licenses, as they ensure that companies can operate fully without facing legal obstacles. Furthermore, these licenses are a critical guarantee for citizens to receive services efficiently and of high quality.
It is noteworthy that the total number of companies that have acquired legal status after registration with the Commercial Register in various governorates includes 15927 Limited Liability Companies, 406 Private Joint Stock Companies, 79 Public Joint Stock Companies, and 30 Holding Companies.
