Government of President Hassan Rouhani is running the state affairs independent of the nuclear talks, deputy chief of staff of the Presidential Office for political affairs Hamid Abutalebi said on Saturday.
Talking to IRNA, he termed President Hassan Rouhaniˈs foreign policy as successful and noted that president’s moderate policy toward the western governments neutralized anti-Iranian plots including the Iran phobia.
President Rouhani initiated rapprochement with the western governments and they have stood in line to promote their relations with Iran, Abutalebi added.
He said that the visit to Tehran of senior officials from Pakistani, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan Republic, Kuwait, Oman and several other regional states account for a major breakthrough in Iranian diplomatic ties with the outside world.
Iran’s foreign policy has taken new directions since Rouhani was elected President of the country in 2013. Nuclear talks between Iran and the G5+1 members have gained momentum.
