Syrian Delegation Participates in Kuwait Conference on Sustainable Energy

The Syrian Ministry of Energy is participating in the Kuwait Conference on Sustainable Energy and its accompanying exhibition, in collaboration with the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).

The conference, which began at the International Fairgrounds in Kuwait and will continue until next Tuesday, aims to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources and in enabling the transition to sustainable energy sources, in line with the “Kuwait 2035” vision. It also seeks to strengthen regional cooperation among Arab countries and the Mediterranean region in the fields of research and development, exchange of renewable energy technology, and improving energy efficiency.

Dr. Mohammad Bassam Al-Drouish, the General Director of the National Center for Energy Research and Syria’s representative, said that a technical delegation from RCREEE will visit Syria on May 18 and 19 to present the results of a study on developing the Syrian electrical system according to the latest Susan development methods. This includes a national strategy for energy transition, aimed at increasing the contribution of renewable energy to the energy balance and establishing binding measures and codes for energy efficiency in buildings and energy-consuming equipment.
