Al-Zayani: Bahrain’s king and President Al-Sharaa discussed ways to develop cooperation in various fields
MANAMA, MAY.10, (ST)-Today, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, bin Rashid Al-Zayani, emphasized the depth of the historical, fraternal relations between the his country and Syria and their peoples.
His statement came during a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart As’ad Al-Shibani in Manama.
He clarified that the discussions between Bahrain’s King and the Syrian president addressed the paths of bilateral cooperation and the potential for strengthening and developing them in various fields, including trade, civil aviation, energy, health, and education, thus contributing to the development of mutual interests and benefiting the two brotherly peoples.
Al-Zayani said: “The two sides discussed the latest developments in Syria, the efforts made by the Syrian government to preserve security and stability, maintain national unity and the cohesion of Syrian society with all its components, and meet the demands of the Syrian people for a free and dignified life. They also discussed the efforts made by the Syrian government to communicate with the international community to obtain political, economic, and development support at this critical stage in the history of our sisterly country.”
He went on to say that King Hamad affirmed to President Al-Sharaa the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to Syria’s stability, sovereignty, and independence, its support for the unity and integrity of its territory, its support for its efforts to achieve peace, security, and stability, meet the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people, restore Syria’s role at the regional and international levels, and its efforts to lift economic sanctions.
Al Zayani concluded by saying, “His Majesty the King commended the constructive steps taken by the new Syrian leadership to consolidate the unity of the Syrian people, and the outcomes of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, which represent an important approach to addressing the complex challenges facing Syria, as well as its efforts to ensure security and stability in the region.”
