Minister of Justice discusses with the Global Survivors Fund means of cooperation in the judicial field

Minister of Justice, Dr. Mazhar Alwais discussed with the Executive Director of the Global Survivor Fund, Estr Denganez on Thursday, the means of cooperation and provision of technical and service support and assistance in various fields, especially the judicial ones.

 

Minister Alwais said during the meeting which held at the ministry in Damascus that a national body will be established that set an integrated legal vision for the transitional justice project, and the mechanism of its application in cooperation with the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Justice, with the aim of holding accountable those responsible for crimes, reparation of harm to the victims and revealing the truth.

 

 

He also pointed to the repercussions of the delay in lifting sanctions on the Syrian people, and their negative impact on the course of development in various sectors, especially the judicial and societal ones.

 

He called on the international community to be a partner, and to provide the necessary assistance in completing sustainable development work, and to transfer the true image of the great suffering that the Syrian people are going through due to the sanctions.

 

In turn, Denganez pointed out that the organization pays great attention to those affected during the past years of the war.

 

She stressed the need to hold those responsible for crimes against the Syrian people and their trial.

 

With regard to the application of transitional justice, the Executive Director of the World Survivors Fund has expressed fully prepared to provide the necessary legal support, in addition to transferring the experiences and laws of other countries that went through conditions similar to the Syrian experience, to contribute to providing psychological and living support to the affected people.
