Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Syrian Arab Republic confirms its categorical rejection of all forms of external interference in its internal affairs

The Syrian Arab Republic affirms its categorical rejection of all forms of external interference in its internal affairs. It considers the recent calls made by outlaw groups that participated in acts of violence on Syrian territories demanding so-called international protection, as illegitimate and completely unacceptable.

These calls come from parties outside the framework of Syrian law, in a clear attempt to internationalize a situation that should be addressed exclusively within the institutions of the Syrian state.
These actions represent a direct threat to the unity of the country and undermine national efforts aimed at restoring security and stability throughout the homeland.

The Foreign Ministry also affirmed its firm commitment to protecting all components of the Syrian people without exception, including the people of the Druze community, which was and still is an original part of the Syrian national fabric.
The Foreign Ministry statement stipulated that the Syrian government expresses its great appreciation to the wise role played by a number of sheikhs and the wise men of the Druze community in extinguishing the fire of strife and preserving the civil peace.
The statement added that the Syrian Arab Republic renews its full assertion that all national issues are dealt only through national mechanisms.
Syria rejects categorically any external dictates or interventions, because Syria’s sovereignty is not a subject of discussion or negotiation.
