UN Secretary-General calls for support for Syria’s efforts towards stability and recovery

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for supporting Syria’s efforts toward long-term stability, recovery, and comprehensive political transition.

According to the United Nations News Center, during a ministerial meeting held today by the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, Guterres reiterated the importance of continuing to work to support Syria’s progress towards a political transition that is inclusive of all segments of the Syrian people.

He stressed the importance of ensuring accountability, promoting national reconciliation, and laying the foundation for Syria’s long-term recovery and strengthening its integration into the international community.
