Finance Minister Discusses Financial Sector Revival with IMF Officials

Syrian Finance Minister Mohammad Yasser Brania stated on LinkedIn:

-We had the honor of meeting with Adrian Tobias, Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and his team.

-We held a fruitful discussion on ways to support the revitalization of Syria’s monetary and financial sectors.

-We covered the key areas where the IMF can provide support, including strengthening the monetary policy framework, banking sector reforms, enhancing financial stability, updating financial infrastructure, developing money and capital markets, and strengthening regulatory and supervisory capacities.

-We agreed on important steps, including organizing an IMF evaluation mission to Damascus
