Russia officially calls on the World Bank Group to provide urgent assistance to Syria

During a meeting of the development committee of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk urged a rapid response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria, emphasizing that the scale of suffering necessitates immediate action.

The Russian delegation highlighted the importance of the World Bank’s intervention to assist the Syrian people, in the light of the difficult living conditions and escalating challenges they face.
