Syria, Jordan discuss prospects of security and military cooperation

Minister of Defense Major General Muhlaf Abu Qasra received a high-level Jordanian military delegation. Prospects of security and military cooperation were discussed between the two countries.

The Ministry of Defense stated in a pist on Telegram that Abu Qasra received, at the ministry’s headquarters, a high -level military delegation from Jordan, headed by Major General Youssef Al -Hunaiti, Chiefs of the joint Staff, in the presence of Major General Ali Al -Naasan, Chief of the General Staff of the Syrian Arab Army.

The Ministry stated that this visit comes within the framework of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In turn, the “Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army” said in a statement published on its official website, that Al -Hunaiti discussed with Abu Qasra bilateral relations and ways to develop and enhance them, and the prospects for security and military cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

Al -Hunaiti stressed, according to the statement, the importance of continuing coordination and joint work to face various challenges in the region by harnessing the capabilities of the Jordanian armed forces in various fields in a way that contributes to achieving security and stability.

He also stressed the importance of continuing coordination and joint work especially in light of the challenges taking place in the border areas, to enhance the national security of the two brotherly countries.

For his part, Abu Qasra, according to the statement, expressed the depth of the historical relations linking the two brotherly countries and Syria’s commitment to close cooperation with Jordan.

He praised the pivotal role played by King Abdullah II in maintaining security and stability in the region.
