Syrian-Norwegian talks on Supporting the Health Sector in Syria

Minister of Health Dr. Musab Al-Ali discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy in Syria, Hilde Haraldstad, ways to enhance health cooperation.

During the meeting held today at the Ministry, Dr. Al-Ali stressed the need to secure health needs to ensure the safe return of Syrian expatriates and regugees.

He noted that the Ministry is working on several priorities, most notably mental health, especially among children, reproductive health, and blood banks.

Dr. Al-Ali noted that the Ministry is preparing a study to create an electronic patient registry to ensure that paperwork is not lost or damaged. He thanked the Norwegian government for supporting the health sector in Syria.

For her part, Haraldstad affirmed her country’s desire to support the health sector in Syria in various fields, especially blood banks, noting that coordination is underway with relevant authorities to provide additional support to Syria and implement various projects.
