The Saudi “Al-Balsam” Association announced yesterday, Tuesday, that its medical team successfully performed 138 surgeries as part of the voluntary medical project for heart surgery and catheterization in Syria, under the supervision of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works.
The association clarified in a statement that its team, consisting of 24 doctors, nurses, and technicians, conducted 28 open-heart surgeries and 110 successful interventional catheterizations at the University Heart Surgery Center in Damascus.
Additionally, they completed training for 24 health practitioners within operating rooms, intensive care units, and healthcare settings.
For his part, the head of the Saudi medical delegation to Damascus Rakan Nazer explained that these efforts are an extension of the various voluntary medical programs implemented by the King Salman Center for Relief and the “Al-Balsam” Association in Syria and several other countries to provide treatment for individuals and families with limited income.
Nazer praised the warm reception of the Syrian people towards Saudi doctors and the cooperation of the Syrian medical team with the “Al-Balsam” Association’s doctors, who left their equipment in Syria so that Syrian doctors could continue treating patients with love and hope.
