The Ministry of Economy and Industry announced the licensing of 80 new craft facilities in Syria during the first quarter of 2025. This development has created 385 direct job opportunities across various productive sectors. The chemical and engineering industries sector had the most significant activity, with 27 chemical facilities licensed, employing 111 workers, and 27 engineering facilities employing 92 workers. The food sector recorded the licensing of 14 new establishments, which provide jobs for 37 workers. The textile industry was notable for having 12 licensed establishments, employing the highest number of individuals at 145 workers.
These developments indicate a gradual return to economic activity in the country and demonstrate the success of government efforts to stimulate artisanal and industrial activities. This has been achieved by simplifying procedures and providing the necessary support to investors and small entrepreneurs.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to continue supporting this vital sector due to its crucial role in generating job opportunities, enhancing local production, and contributing to the stability of the national economy.
