Royheina Dam…..A Key Water Resource and Tourist Attraction in Quneitra

The Royheina Dam is one of the most important water resources in the Quneitra Governorate and an active tourist destination during the spring and summer seasons.

The dam’s body was constructed using basalt stone, which is commonly found in the town’s buildings, and was completed in early 1965.

A decade after its construction, work began to increase the height of the stone barrier to accommodate larger water volumes, enabling the collection of surplus water during the winter and spring seasons.

The dam has a storage capacity of over one million cubic meters of water. Royheina Dam irrigates hundreds of hectares of agricultural land in the governorate, making it one of the most vital water sources in Quneitra.
