Palestinian Foreign Ministry: We demand action to release Palestinian prisoners and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated:

● More than 9,900 Palestinian prisoners are being held in the occupation’s prisons, including 400 children, 29 women, and 51 journalists.

● Since October 7, 63 prisoners have been martyred in the occupation’s prisons, while thousands of sick prisoners continue to struggle with pain behind bars.

● The conditions of detention in the occupation’s prisons are far from humanitarian standards, amidst escalating torture and medical neglect.

● More than 3,498 prisoners are held under administrative detention without charges or trials.

● The occupation prevents visits to prisoners and practices solitary confinement and collective punishment.

● The international community is urged to break the silence and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against prisoners.

● We reject the double standards policy regarding the suffering of our prisoners and demand action to release Palestinian prisoners just as efforts are being made to release hostages from Gaza.
