The Citadel of Damascus, a fortified fortress built in the Medieval Ages, is one of the most prominent examples of military and Islamic architecture in Syria during the Ayyubid era.

It gained global recognition when it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

It is not just stones; it is a symbol of Syria’s ancient history, glorious past, and the authentic Syrian identity.
