Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 175,512 Syrians have returned from Turkey to their country since December 9.
Kaya made this statement to Anadolu Agency today on the sidelines of events commemorating the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Interior’s Migration Management Presidency.
Kaya said that the voluntary return of Syrians to their country has gained momentum and accelerated following the fall of the former regime on December 8.
He added: We are doing what is necessary to create the appropriate conditions for the voluntary, safe, and honorable return of our Syrian brothers to their country.
Kaya indicated that the number of Syrians who returned to their country voluntarily between 2017 and 2025 reached 915,515 people.
Regarding allegations of a “plan to resettle Palestinian civilians from Gaza in camps in northern Syria,” the minister said: Such allegations are completely unfounded.
