U.S. sources: An expected visit by Congressional delegation to Syria

American sources revealed the intention of a U.S. Congressional delegation to visit Syria in the coming days.

The sources, in statements to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Mudun revealed that a U.S. Congressional delegation will visit Syria in the coming days on an unofficial visit , by passing U.S. legal procedures.
According to the newspaper, which cited an anonymous source, the U.S. delegation consists of members from both the Republican and Democratic parties.
The source indicated that there is a growing desire among U.S. lawmakers to observe the situation on the ground in Syria.
Therefore, the visit may take place, although there are concerns about potential cancellation due to security fears.
The newspaper clarified that the visit aims to assess the political and security situation on the ground and understand the stability of the situation, explore ways to provide humanitarian aid,.
It also aims at discussing the possibility of building cooperation with the emerging government.
Additionally, the delegation will address the issue of lifting or easing the U.S. sanctions imposed on Syria.
