Minister of Social Affairs discusses with UN Deputy Secretary-General ways to support Syrian community

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Qabwat, met with the UN Deputy Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, and the UN Special Envoy for Syria’s Deputy, Najat Rushdi, along with their accompanying delegation.

The talks discussed important projects to support the Syrian society.
The ministry’s media office told SANA that the meeting, which took place on Tuesday at the ministry’s headquarters, included an extensive dialogue on the UN’s support for the Syrian government, the necessity of inclusivity for all components of the society as well as the enhancement of women’s roles and their involvement in decision-making.
Additionally, mechanisms for advocating community issues and the importance of transitional justice for rebuilding the Syrian society were also discussed.
