Syria participates in the Connect 25 International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies

With the participation of Syria The”Connect 25″ conference, organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and hosted by the Qatar Red Crescent,kicked off on Tuesday in Doha.

The conference was attended by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent represented by itspresident Hazem Baqla.
According to a statement by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, representatives from 32national societies will discuss their experiences with digital transformation over four days, the challenges they face as well as its role in developing humanitarian work and enhancing its impact.
In a speech on the role and impact of modern
digital technology, including artificial intelligence concerning the activitiesof the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, Baqala reviewed the organization’s digital transformation policies.

He emphasized that despite the significant challenges facing Syria due to economic
sanctions, the repercussions of war, and humanitarian crises, the modern digital technology, persist as they represent an urgent need to achieve positive change for humanitarian work and the society we serve.
During his visit, Baqla met with Bilal Turkiya, Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Doha, at the embassy’s headquarters, in the presence of Ayham Al-Sukhni, Head of International Relations at the Qatar Red Crescent.
The meeting discussed the humanitarian situation in Syria and the organization’s response to the needs of the most vulnerable and affected, as well as its support for their recovery.
