Higher Education Ministry and IAEA delegation discuss cooperation in fighting cancer

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Marwan Al-Halabi discussed with the Director General of the Syrian Atomic Energy Agency and a delegation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ways to enhance cooperation in the fight against cancer.

During the meeting, Al-Halabi stressed that the Ministry’s strategy aims to increase cancer recovery rates by securing treatment requirements and seeking early detection.

He noted the significant role of the International Agency in combating cancer in Syria, through developing treatment methods and providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients.

For its part, the IAEA delegation expressed the Agency’s readiness to provide assistance in combating Cancer through cooperation on medical programs, exchange of expertise, and assessment of hospital needs and priorities in this field.
