Venezuelan Foreign Minister Calls for Lifting Sanctions on Syria

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil has called for the lifting of Western sanctions on Syria.

 

In a statement to the Anadolu Agency during the fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum currently taking place in southern Turkey, Gil said, “Sanctions should be completely lifted from Syria.”

 

The Venezuelan minister explained that his country has always stood against unilateral coercive measures and that no country should be subjected to such actions.

 

Gil emphasized that Venezuela wants the Syrian people to live in peace and to determine their own destiny while preserving their territorial integrity and sovereignty, highlighting the importance of establishing peace in Syria for the sake of peace in the region.
