Regional Leaders Unite at Antalya Forum: Strengthening Ties Between Syria and Libya with Qatar Supporting Stability and Development in Syria

During the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey, President Ahmed Al-Sharaa of the Syrian Arab Republic met with Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh. The meeting highlighted several key developments, including an agreement to activate the Joint Supreme Committee between Syria and Libya, discussions on various mutual interests, and a reaffirmation of Libya’s support for the stability of Syria. They committed to enhancing peace efforts within Syrian territory and agreed to regulate the conditions of Syrians residing in Libya, which aims to expand opportunities for bilateral cooperation across various fields.

The Libyan-Syrian Joint Higher Committee serves as an official platform for developing political, economic, and social relations between the two nations.

Additionally, the Qatari Prime Minister expressed his commitment to supporting Syria in the face of ongoing challenges, stating, “I had the pleasure of meeting His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharaa… We reaffirm our commitment to supporting our brothers in Syria as they confront attempts to undermine their stability, integrity, and sovereignty. We stand in solidarity with the aspirations of the Syrian people for prosperity and development.”
