The dignitaries, sheikhs, and intellectuals of the city of Bosra al-Sham have issued a statement affirming their commitment to national unity.

In their statement, they emphasized the importance of the unity of Syria, both in terms of land and its people, declaring that Bosra al-Sham will always remain an integral part of Syria and a symbol of its unity, regardless of the circumstances. They stressed the necessity of renouncing violence, protecting the youth of the city, rejecting external calls for division, and preventing the pursuit of foreign agendas. They pledged to oppose any efforts aimed at creating discord. The statement reads as follows:
“We, the notables and sheikhs of Bosra al-Sham in Daraa Governorate, gather today to announce the following:
1. We affirm our unwavering commitment to the unity of Syria, its land, and its people, asserting that Bosra al-Sham is an essential part of our beloved homeland.
2. We reject all forms of violence and chaos that threaten the security of our citizens.
3. We declare our solidarity with our military forces, who are responsible for the security of the city, in the face of all challenges.
4. We support all security measures aimed at combating the scourge of drugs and terrorism.
5. We appeal to our youth to refrain from any actions that could jeopardize their security and future. 6. We warn anyone attempting to exploit the region’s conditions for foreign agendas, and we will actively counter all such efforts.
A security source in Daraa told Al-Watan, ” there is no coup against the Ministry of Defense, and what happened is against the background of a previous dispute between local figures inside the city of Bosra al-Sham . The security and police forces seek to control security in proportion to the public interest and stop the aggressor party.
