US representative at the Security Council: “we must agree that a stable and sovereign Syria is important for our collective security”

Acting US Ambassador to the Security Council said during the Council’s session on Thursday: “we must agree that a stable and sovereign Syria is important for our collective security”.

For her part, British Ambassador to the Security Council said her country welcomes the formation of the new Syrian government.

During a Security Council session on Thursday, she stressed that the opportunity to achieve stability in Syria is threatened by Israeli strikes.

For his part, the French Representative to the Security Council said Syria has embarked on a historic transition process.

In addition, Russian Representative to the Security Council Vasily Nebenzia said Russia is concerned about Israeli statements regarding military plans to remain in Syria.

Israel’s actions violate Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, regardless of who rules in Damascus, he added.
