Russia: Agreement between the Syrian government and “SDF” an important step to enhance stability, unity in the country

The Russian Foreign Ministry welcomed the agreement was signed between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces “SDF” to integrate the institutions of “self -administration” in northeastern Syria into the official state institutions.

The Ministry considered that this agreement represents an important step towards enhancing security and unity in the country.

During a press conference today, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Moscow considers the agreement a step towards restoring the unity of Syrian territories.

She said: “We consider reaching an agreement between the Syrian authorities and the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces a step towards restoring the unity of Syria and strengthening its security and stability”.

Commenting on the agreement signed last month in Damascus, Zakharova indicated that the agreement includes the integration of civil and military structures affiliated with the “self -administration” in the institutions of the Syrian state.

Zakharova stressed that this step deserves Russian support.
