Director Almohannad Kalthoum represents Syria in the jury of Sousse International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Tunisia

Syrian film director Almohannad Kalthoum will be a member of the jury for the official competition of the 14th edition of  Sousse International Film Festival for

Children and Youth, which will be held in Sousse, Tunisia, on  April 8 – 12, 2025.

According to festival director Ayman Al-Jalili, the fourteenth edition is exceptional, distinguished by the diversity and richness of its feature-length and short documentary films, following a hiatus of nearly four years.

Al-Jalili emphasized that “the festival’s return after this long hiatus represents a major challenge and a valuable opportunity to revive this important cultural event.”

The festival will feature film training workshops, symposiums , and meetings with filmmakers. It  will also honor prominent Tunisian and Arab cinema figures and personalities.

The event will feature films from 22 countries, with 11 films in the official feature film competition and 9 films in the official short film
competition.

It’s worth noting that the festival was established in 1991. It has since strived to maintain its continuity, alongside the Carthage Film Festival and the Kelibia International Amateur Film Festival, the oldest inTunisia.
