The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced today, Tuesday, that 14,513 individuals have returned to Iraq from the Al-Hol camp in Syria since 2021.
Iraqi News Agency quoted the ministry’s spokesperson, Ali Abbas, confirming that the 24th batch of Iraqi families was transferred from Al-Hol camp on March 29. It included approximately 181 families, equivalent to about 680 individuals.
He added that “the total number of families returning from Al-Hol camp that have been transferred since the beginning of the transfer process in 2021 until today is 3,751 families, equivalent to about 14,513 individuals.”
He pointed out that “the number of families currently present in the center is about 1,200 families, and the number of individuals is approximately 4,700 people.”
He emphasized that “the process of returning families takes place after their م for a period ranging from 4 to 6 months, according to the specific requirements of each case, so they can return to their areas.”
