A volunteer of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent wins third place in the Best Humanitarian Action Photo Competition 2025

Young Mohannad Bakkara, a volunteer of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, won third place in the “Best Photograph Depicting Relief and Humanitarian Work for the Year 2025” competition, organized by the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization.

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent said in a post on its Telegram that the competition was held under the slogan “Humanity Through the Eyes of an Artist.”

The first place went to Mundher Al-Humaidi, Media Officer at the Jordanian Red Crescent, while the second place was awarded to Ahmed Al-Mansour from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority.

Mohannad participated with a photograph showing a paramedic holding an infant in his arms to transfer him from the city of Douma to a hospital in Damascus for further treatment.

The competition, supported by the Qatar Red Crescent, aims to strengthen communication among national societies and to highlight and document their humanitarian and relief roles.

It is dedicated to nominees from Arab national societies, allowing only one photographer from each society to participate.

The submitted photograph must be original and recent, taken in 2025, and must not have been entered in any other competition, including those organized by the participant’s own national society.

The submission period was set from March 1 to March 15.
