On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, and with the aim of bringing smiles to the faces of orphaned children and the elderly, as well as instilling joy in their hearts, several charitable and community associations in Homs have carried out humanitarian initiatives that included recreational activities attended by children and elderly.
Abdul Fattah Hamza, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Charity and Social Services Association, stated to SANA that clothing provided by the Turkish organization “IHH” and from charitable commercial activities was distributed to registered families and orphans, benefiting around one thousand children.
Hamza noted that volunteers from the association shared the joy of Eid al-Fitr with the elderly and those without caregivers at the Dar Al-Saada Elderly Care Home, which accommodates more than one hundred individuals.
For her part, Razan Atasi, the Chairwoman of the Child Care Association in Homs, indicated that Eid clothing was provided for around 600 orphaned children registered with the association, along with a financial gift as an Eid allowance. She also mentioned that during Ramadan, food baskets were distributed to them and their families, along with ongoing monthly financial support.
At the Khalid Ibn Al-Walid Charity Association, Dr. Abdul Ghafar Al-Sakaf, the Chairman of the Board, explained that Eid clothing was distributed to orphaned children registered with the association and their families, totaling 750 households. He also highlighted that a celebration for children was held at the association’s headquarters to promote values of community solidarity and love.
