The total number of contracts signed in the Syrian-Jordanian free zone, since its reopening at the beginning of this year, has reached 88 investment and operational contracts, according to the Free Zones Investors Commission.
Deputy Chairman of the Free Zones Investors Commission Sharf Al-Din al-Rifai stated to “Al-Mamlaka” website that more than 800 investors are waiting the necessary approvals to begin their activities, having submitted requests for investment and operation in the area.
Al-Rifai confirmed that the “joint free zone” is witnessing very active commercial movement in all commercial and economic activities, and that the commission is working in coordination with the relevant authorities in both countries to facilitate procedures in the area and stimulate commercial activity.
