Idlib Governor’s Speech on the Anniversary of the City’s Liberation

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

_On this blessed day, we commemorate the ninth anniversary of the liberation of Idlib, a city that was a beacon of revolution and a fortress of steadfastness. Nine years have passed since the day that was pivotal in the history of Syria, when the free people with their precious blood fought the greatest battles of heroism, Idlib became the gateway to liberation and victory.
-Today, as we live the joy of fully liberating Syria from the injustice and tyranny of the former Assad regime. We recall the sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded who gave their lives and blood to reach this historic moment.
-Idlib has been and will remain a symbol of pride and dignity, and today we reaffirm our commitment to continue working to build a new Syria, a Syria of justice and freedom.
-We pay tribute to all those who contributed to this victory; the honest mujahideen (fighters), honorable media professionals, medical personnel, civil defense, and all our patient people. We pledged to preserve the gains of the revolution, and to build a bright future for our coming generations.
Glory to the martyrs, freedom to Syria and its people.

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman
Governor of Idlib
