Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with representatives of the Syrian-American community in Washington, D.C.
The meeting was held at the Ankara Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday evening, according to a post by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Twitter on Thursday.
The Turkish Embassy did not provide details of the meeting, but participants confirmed that it addressed several issues related to the situation in Syria, the sanctions imposed on Syria, and efforts to support the aspirations of Syrians.
According to Syria TV, talks dealt with ways to cooperate on lifting sanctions imposed on Syria, strengthening diplomatic communication between Washington and Damascus, and supporting Syria’s sovereignty in the face of any threats.
